Why use awards?
You might be thinking why awards, why trophies? Isn’t a ‘thank you’, ‘good work’, or a pat on the back enough?
There’s no feeling quite like receiving an award or trophy for your individual and/or team’s hard work, dedication, services and success - whether it be in the boardroom or the ball field. It’s great to feel recognised and valued by authority figures, but is there really any other purpose to receiving awards beyond that feeling? Believe it or not, awards and recognition have many benefits for your business, club, self and even your customers.

In an ever-changing world, in practically every market, companies, schools and clubs strive to stand out from the crowd. Any company, club or school in the world can say that they’re the best at what they do or have the best products and services…but are they really? Probably not! Many of these companies are embellishing as a fact to bring in more customers but having awards show proof that your organisation or individual skills have been validated and thus, helps differentiate you from the crowd of competitors.
Awards can make you and your titles more visible. They can attract new customers and investors, giving an organisation an edge over its competitors. For example, a certain customer may value quality customer service, getting an award for outstanding customer service and with such an award proudly displayed in your store and on your website, it may just bring in that customer when they may have passed over your business previously.
Awards speak volumes about an organisation’s titles and services and act as a third-party endorsement of your achievements. Being nominated or shortlisted can be helpful because it places you at the forefront of your industry.
Being shortlisted or winning an award serves as a testament to an individual’s and/or company’s work ethic, dedication and unique speciality. The award attracts people who will be more likely to consider a company or author’s work over another if it has won an award. It also serves to reinforcing the loyalty of existing customers and readers no matter what market you are in.
